Excelsior’s main polymer production site is located at Nelson in Lancashire, less than one hour from the company’s Deeside HQ. Nelson houses some of the UK’s the most advanced polymer extrusion and conversion facilities which serve to maintain a constant supply of high quality flexible packaging films and associated materials to the Deeside Site. This not only helps ensure security of supply, it also provides the company with absolute control over quality – in turn, giving Excelsior customers total service and reliability at every stage of the supply process.

In order to meet urgent requirements from key customers, the Nelson facility also includes a significant storage facility for film on the reel – effectively acting as a supply buffer for speed and response of service. The site also includes bag and pouch-making lines as a complementary resource to the main Deeside production centre, and also produces other specialist products involving films, lamination, lidding and medical applications.
