UK packaging super-site opens to provide world-class manufacturing resource

Excelsior Technologies has commenced operations at a new £20million, 8.5 acre super-site which represents the UK's biggest single investment in flexible packaging for decades.

Production

Excelsior has two main UK production sites from which serves its UK customers as well as exporting to fourteen countries across five continents. Both sites are invested with the most advanced flexible packaging extrusion, conversion, printing and finishing plant and equipment.

The company’s new 8.5 acre supersite represents the UK’s biggest single investment in flexible packaging for decades. The company sold more than a billion packs last year but the latest investment brings a significant increase in capacity through the installation of new in-line packaging production machines including the latest multi-colour, high-speed, wide-web rotogravure and flexographic printing machines.

The new site also achieves the international standard in quality management ISO 9001 / 2008 - as well as holding the BRC/IOP Standard for clean manufacturing.
